Wyoming Highways Claim the Life of 118th Victim this Year

(OCTOBER 21, 2015) — A single-vehicle crash northeast of Laramie, Wyoming on October 19th has resulted in the death of 54-year-old Wheatland, Wyoming resident William L. Holzer.

The crash occurred at 3:00 p.m. on Wyoming State Highway 34 near mile post 13 approximately 20 miles northeast of Laramie.

Mr. Holzer was driving a 2000 Ford F-150 pickup truck towing a trailer loaded with an ATV eastbound on WY 34 when he failed to properly negotiate a left hand curve in the road. The truck was overcorrected, tripped and rolled multiple times. Holzer was not wearing his seat belt, was ejected and sustained fatal injuries on scene.

The crash is still under investigation as alcohol use and inattentive driving are currently being investigated as contributing factors in this crash. Mr. Holzer was the 118th highway fatality in Wyoming for 2015. There were 125 highway fatalities in this same time period in 2014.
