ROCK SPRINGS – Think you know history and politics? Are you a Fox News, CNN or History Channel junkie? If so, Western is giving you and your friends an opportunity to put all of that accumulated knowledge to good use.
On Wednesday, Dec. 2, from 7 – 8:30 p.m., the Political Science Department at Western will host the “World Politics Knowledge Bowl” in Room 3650 on the Rock Springs campus. Teams will vie for top honors by answering questions about world politics ranging from the World War II era to the present.
Examples of possible questions include: “In what country did Russian forces intervene in 2014?” “What does the acronym OPEC stand for?” “Who was the U.S. President during most of WWII?”
This event is free and open to high school and college students and to community members. Teams must consist of between two and five competitors. Trophies will be awarded to the first-, second- and third-place teams. Western instructors are allowed to participate, but each team may have no more than one instructor.
