WLSB to Host Meetings: “What Can We Do to Keep Sheridan and Big Horn Counties Out of the Brucellosis DSA?”

(Wyoming Livestock Board, September 29, 2015) — In an effort to educate producers, sportsmen and veterinarians about the risk of Brucellosis in and near the Bighorn Mountains, Wyoming Livestock Board staff veterinarians are hosting two public meetings in October entitled, “What Can We Do to Keep Sheridan and Big Horn Counties Out of the Brucellosis DSA?”

During the meeting, state veterinarian Dr. Jim Logan, along with representatives from the Wyoming Game & Fish Department, will provide updated information on recent findings of Brucellosis in elk in the Bighorn Mountains. He will also address local and statewide Brucellosis issues, and offer steps producers can take to mitigate the risk of Brucellosis in their herds.

The first meeting will take place in Sheridan on Monday, October 12 from 7-9 p.m. in Room W153 of the Whitney Building, located on the Sheridan College campus. The second meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 14 from 7-9 p.m. at the Lovell Community Center in Lovell.
