Laramie, Wyo. (Nov. 4, 2015) – With the Holiday season approaching, the University of Wyoming Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and the Laramie Detachment #777 of the Marine Corps League will team up to collect Toys For Tots at this Saturday’s Wyoming-Colorado State football game. New unwrapped toys, checks or cash may be donated at the Cowboy Football game on Saturday.
UW student-athletes will begin collecting toys and donations at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday morning. They will be stationed at entrances around War Memorial Stadium and will also be walking throughout parking lots and tailgating areas to accept donations. Saturday’s Wyoming-Colorado State football game will kick off at 1 p.m.
Toys For Tots is a program that has been coordinated for years by the United States Marine Corps Reserve. All toys donated at this week’s games will remain in Albany County. Monetary donations will be used to purchase additional toys and wrap those toys for children in Albany County.
Toys donated need to be new and unwrapped. Financial donations may be made by cash or check. Checks may be made out to: Toys For Tots.
The UW Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) distributes the toys to children at the annual SAAC Holiday Carnival in December.
