(Rock Springs, Wyo. – October 16, 2015) — A fugitive on the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office most wanted list has been captured in Utah.
Sheriff Mike Lowell said, on October 14, 2015, Bryan Jasper Lester, 25, was arrested without incident at a residence in Kaysville, Utah.
In April of 2014, Lester was charged for his role in a fraudulent check-cashing scam investigated by Rock Springs Police Department. According to court documents, in December of 2014, Lester pleaded guilty to multiple counts of conspiracy and obtaining property by false pretenses and was sentenced, as part of a plea agreement, to supervised probation and treatment. In April of this year, Lester suddenly left his court-ordered residential treatment program, absconded from supervised probation and fled the State.
Detectives assigned to the Sheriff’s Narcotics and Arrest Group (SNAAG) started tracking Lester in May of this year and recently developed new information leading them to the Kaysville residence. SNAAG detectives then coordinated with Davis County, Utah sheriff’s detectives, who successfully apprehended Lester.
Sheriff Lowell credited tips from the public and a cooperative effort by Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office, Davis County Sheriff’s Office and US Marshals Service for Lester’s capture, and expressed his thanks for the community’s support.
Lester remains in custody at Davis County Jail in Farmington, UT awaiting extradition to Wyoming.
