Rock Springs Wild Horse Holding Facility to Hold Adoption Event

OCTOBER 15, 2015 — The Bureau of Land Management’s Rock Springs Wild Horse Holding Facility will be holding a wild horse adoption event on Friday, Oct. 30th, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“We have lots of wild horses in need of a good home,” said BLM Wyoming Adoption Coordinator Amy Ruhs. “Folks who put in the time and effort to adopt and train a wild horse are rewarded with a sensible, alert, loyal, surefooted and hardy animal.”

BLM specialists will be on hand to answer questions and assist with adoption applications.  All horses will be available for the adoption fee of $125.

Wyoming has had an exceptional 2015, adopting out 174 wild horses and burros statewide, with 83 wild horses adopted directly from the Wild Horse Holding Facility.

The wild horse facility is located on Lionkol Road east of north Elk Street/Highway 191.
