UPDATE:  A spokesperson from Rocky Mountain Power has confirmed that the power outage that affected Rock Springs on Wednesday was caused by a bird getting caught in a transformer.  The outage affected approximately 3000 residents and lasted about an hour.

A power outage has been reported in Rock Springs this morning.  Cause of the outage is currently unknown.

According to Rocky Mountain Power approximately originally 3,042 customers were without power, but that number has been downgraded to 426.  Crews have been dispatched and the estimated time of power restoration is 1:30 p.m.
