Western Wyoming’s Community Education Offers Non-Credit Microsoft and Geology Classes this Month

ROCK SPRINGS — Western Wyoming Community College is offering a variety of useful and exciting Community Education classes this fall for those who are interested in non-credit learning opportunities. October courses include: Microsoft Office Mini Series; The Wide World of Geology; Social Media; Cards for All Occasions; Halloween Figurines; and more.

Microsoft Office Mini Series will cover basic skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Students will learn how to create and design basic documents, spreadsheets and slides. This class will meet on Wednesdays from 6 – 8 p.m. beginning Oct. 14 and concluding Dec. 9 at the Rock Springs campus. The cost is $80; seniors pay only $20.

In the Wide World of Geology, participants will study the world around us and the way it was formed with minerals and rocks to create a working system. Taught by Associate Professor of Anthropology/Geology Dana Pertermann, Ph.D., this hands-on crash course will cover the processes and materials that make up this magnificent planet Earth.

The geology class will meet on five consecutive Wednesdays from 5:30 – 7 p.m. beginning Oct. 14 and concluding Nov. 11 at the Rock Springs campus. The cost is $70; the class is free for seniors.
