OCTOBER 7, 2015 — According to Chief Dwane Pacheco:
On Wednesday, October 07, 2015, at approximately 10:56 a.m. police were dispatched to the Costa Vida restaurant located at 1663 Sunset Boulevard in reference to a vehicle that had driven through a window at the business.
Upon arrival, police found a silver 1997 Chrysler van had crashed through a wall of windows on the west side of the restaurant and had driven in as far as the rearview mirrors of the front doors. No injuries are reported at this time. Investigation revealed that the driver was learning how to drive when the crash occurred.
As a result of the investigation, Samantha L. Shaw-Pendergrass, age 24, of Rock Springs was issued a citation for careless driving.
