Rock Springs Man Sentenced to Prison for Shooting Incident

(OCTOBER 20, 2015) — On October 14, 2015, in Third District Court, Green River, Wyoming, Norman Leroy Lange, age 46, of Rock Springs, Wyoming, received a sentence of two to seven years in the Wyoming State Penitentiary for a shooting incident which occurred on June 29, 2015.

According to court documents, in the early morning hours of Monday, June 29, 2015, Lange was assaulted at the Bareback Saloon in Rock Springs by Anthony Bowen, age 47 of Plant City, Florida.  After the assault, Lange departed the area, obtained a .22 caliber rifle, returned to the Bareback, and waited in his vehicle for Bowen to leave the bar.  Eventually Bowen and two acquaintances left in separate vehicles, followed by Lange.  As the vehicles drove down Center Street in Rock Springs, Lange shot at the vehicles.  The two occupied vehicles were struck by the gunfire, however, no injuries occurred.

Lange was arrested on July 1, 2015 without incident.  He was subsequently charged with one count of Aggravated Assault and two counts of Reckless Endangering.  Lange pled guilty to the Aggravated Assault and was sentenced to two to seven years to be served in the Wyoming State Penitentiary.
